Backupify lets users select device data and create backups in a Google Drive account they connect. This policy explains what data the app accesses, how it is used, and the choices available to users.
Data Users Choose to Back Up
Depending on the feature used and permissions granted, Backupify may access photos, videos, audio, documents, archives, SMS and MMS messages, call logs, contacts, calendar events, and information or installation files for apps on the device. This content is accessed only to provide a backup, restore, browsing, deletion, or scheduling action requested by the user.
Google Drive and Account Data
When a user signs in with Google, the app receives the account information and authorization tokens needed to access the connected Google Drive. Selected backup content is transferred over encrypted HTTPS connections and stored in that Google Drive account. Backupify does not operate a separate server that stores the contents of personal backups.
App, Diagnostics, Messaging, and Advertising Data
Backupify uses Google Firebase services for analytics, crash diagnostics, cloud messaging, and remote configuration. It also uses Google Mobile Ads and Google Play Billing. These services may process device or advertising identifiers, app interactions, diagnostics, approximate location inferred from network information, messaging tokens, purchase status, and related technical data under their own privacy terms. Where required, the app displays Google's advertising consent or privacy-options form.
How Data Is Used and Shared
Data is used to provide and improve backup and restore features, maintain app reliability, send service messages, manage subscriptions, prevent abuse, and show or measure ads. Backupify does not sell personal backup content. Data may be processed by the Google services described above, when users direct the app to interact with Google Drive, when required by law, or to protect users and the service.
Permissions and User Choices
Sensitive device permissions are requested only when needed for a feature. Users can decline or revoke a permission in Android settings, choose which categories to back up, change eligible advertising privacy choices in the app, disconnect Google access, or stop using the app. Some features will not work without their required permission.
Storage, Retention, and Deletion
The app may create temporary local files while packaging, uploading, downloading, or restoring a backup. Backup records and preferences can remain locally until the user deletes them, clears app data, or uninstalls the app. Users can delete cloud backups in Backupify or Google Drive; deleted Drive items may remain in Drive Trash until permanently removed. Google and other service providers retain data according to their own policies and legal obligations.
Security
Backupify uses platform security controls and encrypted network connections. Cloud backups are protected by the user's Google account and Google Drive security. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
Children
Backupify is not directed to children under 13, or the minimum age required in the user's country, and is not intended to knowingly collect their personal information.
Policy Changes and Contact
This policy may be updated when the app or legal requirements change. The effective date above will be revised, and a materially updated in-app disclosure may be shown again.
